Tim Shore

Tim is a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with over 10 years’ experience working both within NHS mental health services and with private clients. Tim has worked in a variety of clinical settings during this time, with experience of delivering psychological interventions to treat a range of difficulties linked with anxiety, depression and trauma.

As a Clinical Psychologist, Tim has been trained to understand the different ways in which psychological distress can present itself and negatively impact upon people’s lives. His training and clinical experience enables him to draw upon different therapeutic approaches, allowing for a flexible approach which can be tailored to a person’s needs and own set of circumstances.

Tim has a particular interest in considering emotional distress from a relational perspective – particularly how repeated patterns of interaction may be reinforcing low self-esteem and maintaining unhappiness and distress. He has experience in his clinical work of focusing on relational difficulties between couples or between inter-generational family members, supporting people to recognise and break unhelpful cycles of behaviour.

Tim is also interested in the links between physical and mental health. From his time working in specialist services for people with long-term health conditions, he has experience of supporting people adjust to living with conditions such as chronic pain and fatigue. He has also worked with people with neurological disorders and people with dementia, often focusing on complex issues involving carer stress and experiences of loss.

Tim is registered with all the main private healthcare providers, including BUPA, AXA and Vitality Health. He is trained in using several therapy modalities, and is able to offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
