Elizabeth Kinsey-James
Elizabeth is an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist offering in person therapy sessions at the Chiltern Clinic as well as online.
Elizabeth qualified at the University of Roehampton in counselling and psychotherapy. She has many years of experience working in therapy clinics in London, and in private practice, with clients with a substantial range of backgrounds and presentations. She is qualified to work with individuals over the age of 16.
Elizabeth offers a safe and supportive space to explore thoughts and feelings, prioritising warmth and empathy. Elizabeth’s approach is relational, meaning it is rooted in a strong relationship between therapist and client, which emphasises collaboration, and provides insight into the client’s patterns of relating to others.
Her style of therapy is integrative, meaning she uses a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on what suits the client and situation best. She trained in person-centred therapy with psychodynamic and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She is also undertaking training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and will be offering this therapy later in the year.
Elizabeth is registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and is fully insured to practice.
